the hundred dresses

i’ve only recently heard of this book.  but thanks to my lovely homeschooling community – i’ve been exposed to more books than i could have ever imagined.  oh, it’s not that i never read as a child, but schools have what *they* want you to read, and there isn’t much more left after that.  but i digress…

we are working on a project based on the book.  some others from our hs community have scheduled some fun projects to go along with a play based on the book which includes a tour of a well known kids store.  not all the kids in our group were able to go, including minime – but we forge ahead!!  we’re working on our own project!!

several of the kiddos will work on creating their own “100 anythings” and will present them at a luncheon at the favorite eating place.  minime and i are working on 100 paper doll dresses.  we’re splitting the project because we are starting it so late – but also to allow us to interact on the project with the kids!  i’m excited!!  it lets me play with paper.  heehee

while researching, i found this, which i just adore; and this – but none of the links work for me; and this – with more interesting versions.

this has been a fun project so far (we’re just on day one – check with me next week!).  and we’re really enjoying the book.  look for our artwork in upcoming posts.

i’m just so darn excited to get to play in paper again!  who woulda thunk it would be this?
